Art Teacher
I've been a artist & all around creative person since I was a young child.
Through the years I found great satisfaction in exploring many different artistic mediums and creative career paths, all of which have provided countless experiences.
Teaching visual arts to children has been by far my greatest and most rewarding acheivment to date, and is a path I hope to revisit soon!
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe art can be a lovely tool when breaking down walls, making connections and getting to know people. I use art education in the same way to make important connections with my students and then try to let them lead the way as individuals.
I try to provide my students with the information and tools they need as a platform to go in any direction that might interest them, and ideally help guide them to a successful and happy future.
I believe strongly in providing students with a supportive safe space and community in which they can learn and grow, free from any outside influences. I aim at creating a classroom environment that is inviting for my students and can be a place they feel comfortable exploring and creating the visual arts.
Although I am firmly grounded in teaching the traditional art techniques and mediums necessary to help my students grow as artists, I also recognize the extreme importance of keeping a classroom environment connected to technology with respect to both our changing world as well as the ever-developing art world and community.
Lastly, I believe to be a successful teacher you must always remain a student yourself and continue to grow. This ability to keep an open mind will only help you become a more successful educator and mentor.
